Conference 2023 – Believing in Children

Conference 2023 – Believing in Children

with Dr Rebecca Nye May 2023   Portobello and Joppa is a special place. Known as 'Edinburgh's Seaside', with long stretches of beautiful sand and blue sea. It is special, too, for our guest speaker, Dr Rebecca Nye. Rebecca spent her early childhood looking out on this beach, and this is where her childhood spirituality began to grow. Storyteller and Door Person Accredited Training – Duddingston Kirk – 15-17 June 2022

The Godly Play Storyteller and Door Person Accredited Training is designed to give people a better understanding of both the theory and practice of Godly Play. The course explores each of the main types of story – sacred, parables and liturgy.  We concentrate on the core stories that people usually tell at the beginning of their Godly Play journey.  Alongside the stories and wondering, are workshops that explore the theology and theory behind Godly Play. There is a mixture of trainer led and participant storytelling sessions - so you have the opportunity to tell a story as part of the course and see and wonder about 14 other stories. The cost of this course is from £315.  This includes a course handbook, lunches and refreshments. You can book your place here. If you want to know more about this course, please get in touch with Alex. The venue for this course is the Godly Play Room, Duddingston Kirk Manse, Old Church Lane, Edinburgh, EH15 3PX...

Godly Play and Ignatian Spirituality – online workshop

Godly Play Scotland and Godly Play UK, in conjunction with the Godly Play Foundation, are excited to offer a series of online workshops, exploring some things that might influence our Godly Play circles and help inform our Godly Play practice. This third set of workshops explores Godly Play and Ignatian Spirituality. Led by Brenda Timmer, a Godly Play Trainer with Godly Play South Africa. About this Workshop In this workshop Brenda Timmer explores the intersections between Godly Play and Ignatian Spirituality. What might spirituality be in practice – how we live it out and what we need to be able to do this? To set the scene, Brenda tells us a little about St Ignatius, his dreams and journeys and his legacy. Then she invites us to wonder what sort of a conversation Jerome Berryman and St Ignatius might have together if they met for coffee – these two who are so passionate about accompanying others and how we create space to be...
