Godly Play Book Group – Godly Play in Middle and Late Childhood

Our second Book Group of 2024 is reading, wondering about and discussing "Godly Play in Middle and Late Childhood", by Cheryl V. Minor. This book explores the ways in which Godly Play mentors (Storytellers and Door People) can continue a Godly Play journey with older children - the children who may be too cool to play or wonder, but who still need to explore those big questions and whose spirituality still needs to be nurtured in a safe and loving space. Godly Play in Middle and Late Childhood is the latest addition to the Godly Play series and was published in 2022. Each time we meet, we will read and discuss a chapter or maybe two. This Book Group is hosted by Michelle and Alex. Our Book Group is on Zoom and will meet on four times, on Wednesday evenings, starting on the 17th January and finishing on 6th March. Godly Play Book Group – Teaching Godly Play

Our first Book Group of 2024 is reading, wondering about and discussing "Teaching Godly Play. How to Mentor the Spiritual Development of Children", by Jerome W. Berryman. Even if you have already read this a few times, there is always something new ... we are amazed by the new insights we get from discussing these books. Each time we meet, we will read and discuss a chapter or maybe two. This Book Group is hosted by Michelle and Jessica. Our Book Group is on Zoom and will meet on six times, on Wednesday evenings, starting on the 10th January and finishing on 20th March. We meet between 8pm and 9pm. Hear a Story/Make a Story – the Story of Moses

Listen to the story of Moses, from being found among the bull rushes, through meeting God in the burning bush and leading the People of God to freedom and to the Promised land. Wonder and then make the story, so you can take it back to your own circle. This is our pre-conference event, starting at 10am in the Session Room at Portobello and Joppa Parish Church, and finishing by 2:30pm - giving you enough time to relax and get ready before our Conference. The cost is £35 - including all the materials for the story. We'll provide tea, coffee and a little bit of feasting, but please bring your own lunch. Discovery Day – Fort William – 24th June

Discovery Days are a great way to find out about Godly Play and to experience it for yourself. This Discovery Day will be held at Duncansburgh Church in Fort William.
