The Story of St Kentigern, also known as St Mungo

St Kentigern was a 6th Century Scottish saint, also known by his pet name – Mungo.

Kentigern was a missionary to the kingdom of Strathclyde, in the west of Scotland. He founded Glasgow and is the city’s joint patron saint, with his mother.

In 1119 Glasgow Cathedral was built on the site of St Kentigern's first church, and in 1175 Glasgow became a Burgh.

2025 is a special year for Glasgow, with the celebration of it's 850th birthday. Part of that celebration is sharing this story in the style of Godly Play®.

We have a script, resources to lend and sometime soon you can watch the story on YouTube.
