Making Materials Day – Edinburgh – 23 August

At a Making Materials Day we supply quality, basic raw materials (plywood tiles, foamcore, wool for felting) and the tools (glue, sandpaper, craft knives and paint) so that you can make your own Godly Play storytelling objects. All you need to do is put them together. And we'll have experienced crafters and Godly Play storytellers on hand to advise and help. Making Materials Days are busy, with people making different things. There is usually lots of Godly Play chat and networking and not nearly enough coffee drinking. Cost - £15, plus the cost of any materials you make. Tea and coffee are included, but please bring your own lunch. Book here ... Discovery Day – Edinburgh – 20 September

Discovery Days are a great way to experience a little bit of Godly Play and to find out more. We always start with a full Godly Play Session. There is plenty of time for questions, to look at the resources and to wonder about the different types of Godly Play stories. This Discovery Day will be held at the Godly Play Scotland centre, in the basement of Duddingston Kirk's Manse*, Edinburgh. The day starts at 10am and will finish by 4pm. Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided, but please bring your own lunch. Circle – Edinburgh – 14th December

As we grow close to the Mystery of Christmas, we need a little time to be ready and what better way, than with fellow storytellers, listening to and wondering about a story, and feasting. All are welcome, whether you are curious about what Godly Play is, are a seasoned storyteller or just need a little time away from the busyness of advent. There is no charge and no need to book....

Godly Play Accredited Storyteller & Door Person Training – Spring Saturdays 2024

This Storyteller and Door Person Accredited Training Course runs over four Saturdays in the Spring and early Summer of 2024. 6th April 4th May 1st June We'll arrange the fourth Saturday when we meet on the 6th April. Each day starts at 9:30am and finishes by 4:30pm. The venue is the Godly Play Room at Cramond Kirk Halls, part of Edinburgh Northwest Kirk. The Godly Play Storyteller and Door Person Accredited Training is designed to give people a better understanding of both the theory and practice of Godly Play. The course explores each of the main types of story – sacred, parables and liturgy. We concentrate on the core stories that people usually tell at the beginning of their Godly Play journey. Alongside the stories and wondering, are workshops that explore the theology and theory behind Godly Play. There is a mixture of trainer led and participant storytelling sessions - so you have the opportunity to tell a story as part of the course and see and wonder about...
