Godly Play Accredited Storyteller & Door Person Training – Spring Saturdays 2024

This Storyteller and Door Person Accredited Training Course runs over four Saturdays in the Spring and early Summer of 2024. 6th April 4th May 1st June We'll arrange the fourth Saturday when we meet on the 6th April. Each day starts at 9:30am and finishes by 4:30pm. The venue is the Godly Play Room at Cramond Kirk Halls, part of Edinburgh Northwest Kirk. The Godly Play Storyteller and Door Person Accredited Training is designed to give people a better understanding of both the theory and practice of Godly Play. The course explores each of the main types of story – sacred, parables and liturgy.  We concentrate on the core stories that people usually tell at the beginning of their Godly Play journey.  Alongside the stories and wondering, are workshops that explore the theology and theory behind Godly Play. Godly Play Book Group – Godly Play in Middle and Late Childhood

Our second Book Group of 2024 is reading, wondering about and discussing "Godly Play in Middle and Late Childhood", by Cheryl V. Minor. This book explores the ways in which Godly Play mentors (Storytellers and Door People) can continue a Godly Play journey with older children - the children who may be too cool to play or wonder, but who still need to explore those big questions and whose spirituality still needs to be nurtured in a safe and loving space. Godly Play in Middle and Late Childhood is the latest addition to the Godly Play series and was published in 2022. Each time we meet, we will read and discuss a chapter or maybe two. Even if you have already read this a few times, there is always something new ... we are amazed by the new insights we get from discussing these books. Each time we meet, we will read and discuss a chapter or maybe two. This Book Group is hosted by Michelle and Jessica.
