Come to one of our events or training courses

Accredited Training Courses

If you are planning on using Godly Play in your church or school programming, we offer accredited training courses designed to give an excellent understanding of the theory and practice of Godly Play.

We offer both multi-day residential and single day courses. Each course will involve a mixture of trainer-led seminars, workshops and will allow you to fully participate in Godly Play storytelling.

Circles (Network Meetings)

Godly Play Circles - we sometimes call them Network Meetings - are informal events, usually in the evening or a Saturday morning, where people meet to hear a story, do some wondering and chat about Godly Play.

They open to everyone, from the seasoned Godly Player who wants to hear a story and do some wondering to the complete novice, who just wants to find out what Godly Play is all about.

There is no charge for these events and you don't need to register (unless they are online), just come along.

Making Materials Days

Some of the Godly Play materials you have to buy, others you can borrow and the rest you can make. Materials Days are all about making your own materials.

These are run on a non-profit basis, supplying you with quality basic materials that allow you to build up your own collection of Godly Play stories.

Discovery Day

Experience a full Godly Play session, find out a little more about Godly Play and ask questions.

A full day includes:

  • A full Godly Play session
  • Finding out about the different stories and experiencing these being told by different Godly Play Storytellers
  • Finding out what you need to tell the stories and learning how to get started

If you would like us to come to your church or organisation for a Discovery Day, please ask. We are happy to travel and can tailor these events to suit your needs.

Going Deeper

We can also offer ways to explore Godly Play and how we can use it in a little more depth. These "Going Deeper" days are designed for people with some experience of Godly Play.

Previous areas of focus have been on ...

  • Advent and the Christmas Stories
  • Parables
  • Story telling
  • Alternative liturgical materials

with Dr Rebecca Nye May 2023   Portobello and Joppa is a special place. Known as 'Edinburgh's Seaside', with long stretches of beautiful sand and blue sea. It is special, too, for our guest speaker, Dr Rebecca Nye. Rebecca spent her early childhood looking out on this beach, and this is where her childhood spirituality began to grow. Because Portobello and Joppa are such an important part of Rebecca's childhood, she asked if she could be with us in person…
