DESCRIPTION:Storyteller and Door Person Accredited Training \nGodly Play Scotland Centre\, Duddingston Kirk Manse\, Edinburgh \nWednesday 22nd\, Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th October 2025 \nOur Storyteller and Door Person Accredited Training takes an immersive\, hands-on approach\, helping participants to understand the process and the theory of Godly Play. \nWe do this through storytelling\, reflection\, and practice. Storyteller and Door Person Accredited Training is a mixture of trainer led and participant storytelling sessions – so you have the opportunity to tell a story as part of the course and\, see and wonder about 14 other stories. \nThis is a non-residential course. Each day starts at 8:30am and finishes at 6:30pm on Wednesday and Thursday and 5pm on Friday. \nThe course fee is £315. DESCRIPTION:This is a weekend\, non-residential course. It starts at 1pm on Friday 21st March and finishes at 5pm on Sunday 23rd March. \nThe venue is the Godly Play Scotland Centre in Duddingston Kirk Manse. \nThe Godly Play Storyteller and Door Person Accredited Training is designed to give people a better understanding of both the theory and practice of Godly Play. \nThe course explores each of the main types of story – sacred\, parables and liturgy.  We concentrate on the core stories that people usually tell at the beginning of their Godly Play journey.  Alongside the stories and wondering\, are workshops that explore the theology and theory behind Godly Play. \nThere is a mixture of trainer led and participant storytelling sessions – so you have the opportunity to tell a story as part of the course and see and wonder about 14 other stories. \nGodly Play Storyteller and Door Person training courses fit a lot in\, so the days are long. This is especially true of this course\, as it is over a weekend. We will work late on Friday and even later on Saturday\, then we have a full day on Sunday. \nThe cost of this course is from £315.  This includes a course handbook\, lunches\, dinner on Saturday evening and refreshments. \nWe are offering early bird (10%) discount for bookings made before 30th January\, and second mouse* (5%) discount for booking made between then and 20th February. \nBook here …\n \nIf you want to know more about this course\, please get in touch with Alex. \n \n  \n* the early bird might get the worm\, but the second mouse gets the cheese!

DESCRIPTION:At a Making Materials Day we supply quality\, basic raw materials (plywood tiles\, foamcore\, wool for felting) and the tools (glue\, sandpaper\, craft knives and paint) so that you can make your own Godly Play storytelling objects. All you need to do is put them together. And we’ll have experienced crafters and Godly Play storytellers on hand to advise and help. \nMaking Materials Days are busy\, with people making different things. There is usually lots of Godly Play chat and networking and not nearly enough coffee drinking. \nCost – £15\, plus the cost of any materials you make. Tea and coffee are included\, but please bring your own lunch. \nBook here … \nBooking is essential\, so we can make sure that we have all the bits and pieces we need for your to make your materials.

The day starts at 10am and will finish by 4pm. \nTea\, coffee and snacks will be provided\, but please bring your own lunch. \nThe cost of the day is £15 and you can book here … \n  \nWe have held these days for several denominations\, but we don’t usually advertise them … then we thought “How do people know that we do that?” So\, if you would like a Godly Play Day – some discovery and with a workshop on childhood spirituality for your ministry trainees\, then please let us know.
