Circle (network) meetings – an optional extra?
Not for me! I came off the planning group nearly a year ago, and from being deep in the thick of planning, organising and presenting, I’m now for the most part just working away in my own small corner like most of you. And I’m realising how important it is not to become isolated and forget the wider picture. When I realised how much I was looking forward to the meeting we had last Saturday, it dawned on me that I’m so out of the loop. If you are not one of the lucky ones working with a team of Godly Players, you’ll find, like me, that it can be ages since you’ve actually talked “Godly Play” to anyone.
Network meetings ground me and strengthen me in the essential work we do. Saturday’s was no exception. I was delighted to hear that the hope is that there will soon be regular Network Circle meetings in lots more places around Scotland.
If you’ve never been to one, do try it. It’s great to hear a story you are not telling yourself! And the discussion which arises can range over anything from your latest Godly Play disaster (or triumph) to adding your voice to a national debate about the way forward for Godly Play.
Not to mention the coffee, cake, and fellowship!
