“Spiritual well being – belonging to a community in which we can be ourselves and our story is valued – where our feelings and emotions, our search for meaning and purpose, our sense of awe and wonder, our creativity, our beliefs and our relationships are supported.”
Stories for the Soul is person-centred spiritual care for older people and for those living with dementia.
Stories for the Soul is based on Godly Play – developed from a three year project to explore and understand how Godly Play could be used with adults and, in particular, those living with dementia.
This Enrichment day is for people who have already completed the Storyteller and Door Person* Accredited Godly Play training.
The day will look at:
- the spirituality of older people;
- adaptations to the session for older people, including those living with dementia;
- and setting up a Stories for the Soul environment in a care setting.
Godly Play Scotland is delighted to welcome Kathryn Lord to lead this training. Kathryn is a Godly Play Trainer and has been involved in Stories for the Soul from the beginning, helping set up the initial project, working as a storyteller in care homes and providing training.
* 3 day or Core training
