Richard and Alex spent the last few days in a very snowy Aviemore with a Godly Play Scotland stand at the Deep Impact conference.  We've been to conferences before, but this time we decided to do something a little different to give people an idea of what a Godly Play space might look and feel like.  This also gave us the opportunity to tell a few stories to interested passers-by and explain how Godly Play works. What we didn't really expect was the half dozen teenagers who turned up late on Saturday evening looking for a story.  Richard duly pulled out the desert bag and I am sure, watching the absorption on all their faces, that the hustle and bustle of the rest of the conference faded out. Sadly, we had to come home early as there was a heavy fall of snow forecast....

Trainers trained …

Godly Play Scotland is delighted to announce that we have two new accredited Trainers - Michelle Brown and Richard Knott.  Michelle and Richard have been on this journey for over a year - reading about Godly Play, telling stories, wondering, working through response.  Now they are on their way back to Edinburgh having completed the last part of their training - a week long, very intensive and wonderful course with Peter Privett, Rebecca Nye and Andrea Harrison. Congratulations to both Michelle and Richard....

Circle (network) meetings – an optional extra?

Circle (network) meetings – an optional extra? Not for me!  I came off the planning group nearly a year ago, and from being deep in the thick of planning, organising and presenting, I’m now for the most part just working away in my own small corner like most of you.  And I’m realising how important it is not to become isolated and forget the wider picture.  When I realised how much I was looking forward to the meeting we had last Saturday, it dawned on me that I’m so out of the loop.  If you are not one of the lucky ones working with a team of Godly Players, you’ll find, like me, that it can be ages since you’ve actually talked “Godly Play” to anyone.
